Smashbox Cosmetics was created in 1997, by Dean and Davis Factor (the great grandsons of Max Factor). The two very different entrepreneurial brothers combined their knowledge and skills to form Smashbox Photo Studios Los Angeles. With the celebrity and fashion crowd coming and going from day and into the night, Dean and Davis were inundated with celebrity, photographer and make up artist requests for a resilient line of innovative products that could withstand the stress of a photo shoot, as well as translate perfectly into “real life” needs of women everywhere. Smashbox Cosmetics was launched in New Zealand in 2005.
